Wedding cakes are truly one of my favorite cakes to make. At Nina Bakes Cakes I create glamorous and elegant wedding cakes – perfect for those occasions where a statement cake is the best centerpiece. Below you’ll find some frequently asked questions that’ll help get you started.
As it is only myself who designs, bakes and decorates all of the cakes at Nina Bakes Cakes, I am only able to take on a limited amount of orders per week to maintain my high standards. It is also worth bearing in mind that all wedding and celebration cakes require planning, therefore I would prefer as much notice as possible. Although sometimes, I may be able to accommodate a cake at shorter notice, so please do always ask. If you wish to book your cake early but are unsure of the design or colors, this is not a problem. Final consultations can take place at a later date.
Once your design is finalized, I will draw up a contract for you to sign. It will include terms and conditions and all details of the cake.
A 50% deposit is required to book your date. The remaining amount isn’t due until 2 weeks prior to your event but you are more than welcomed to pay in full at anytime. If your date has to change for any reason I am very flexible and will do my best to accommodate.
CONSULTATIONS / TASTINGS
I hold regular consultations throughout the year. Due to COVID-19, I have temporarily suspended in-person cake tastings as a precautionary measure. However, tasting boxes are available for pick up. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to taste a selection of my cakes in the comfort of your own home! They also make perfect gifts to send to family or friends.
My tasting boxes cost $55 and include 6 different cake samples. Tasting boxes include a complimentary consultation and the cost of your tasting box deducted from your final balance. Minimum order of $800 applies.

All of the wedding and celebration cakes which I make are bespoke, so prices will vary depending on the size of the cake and the complexity of the design. Please note that labor intensive designs with lots of sugar work (such as ruffles and sugar flowers) or lots of fresh florals are likely to cost more. Having a mixture of dummy and real tiers will reduce the price slightly.
Pricing is based on the number of servings and the amount of detail that will go into your cake. Servings start at $9.75/guest for buttercream and $12.75/guest for fondant.
Number of guests is the greatest factor in the price of your wedding cake. If you know your cake will be served late-night or just later in the evening, it is highly recommended that you consider serving 60%-70% of your guests to save you from unnecessarily wasted cake.
We also specialize in beautifully decorated cookies for events leading up to the wedding. Examples: engagement parties, asking your dear friends to be bridesmaids, gifts for the bride, groom, wedding party, etc.
